Party?

So.. on Sunday I'm going to be 40 yo... what am I supposed to do? a party? I don't think I know enough people to do that lol. In fact I don't see my few friends for years and I stopped talking to them. My family is very small and we don't celebrate anything together, sometimes Christmas with my mother which is not my favorite day of the year. I do not expect anyone come nor any gift. I was thinking to go somewhere with Alexis but his idea for my gift was "a dinner or 12 minutes of savage sex" maybe I should take the sex offer but I feel anything for him even in that way. 

I think I will stay at home like another normal Sunday and perhaps I will make plans for my next trip. I know it sound kinda depressed but I really I do not fit with the people I know. There are not healthy, constructive or inspiring people so I do not have any interest on them.

I'm not a good example of anything, socially speaking, but for what it's worth, I think birthdays are for whatever you want to do. I know that parties or going out are the traditional ways to celebrate, but "traditional" is just a guideline --- if staying at home planning a trip sounds good to you, that's an entirely valid way birthday activity. It's your birthday, you get to choose. Whatever makes you happy.

PS: That also applies to every other day, I think.

PS 2: I'm not the most social of people, to say the least, so take the above with a large grain of salt :).

I hardly ever enjoy traditional celebrations. I would like to spend the day taking care of myself but my mother called me yesterday saying "it is your birthday on Sunday! -(thanks mom for let me know that) - let's have lunch together" so she let me choose between go to her restaurant or stay at my house which will means I have to cook for her to celebrate my bday, so I think I will go to her restaurant and eat something while she is complaining about her employees lol

I didn't realise you were 39. I had you down as in your late 20s...
I'm not one for big celebrations.
All I want to do on my birthday is treat myself and my wife to an expensive meal. It's her birthday today in fact and we did the same thing.
